About the Art Program

1Creative Learning™ is an 8-part digital art workshop series for ages 10-15, with one class held each week. Sessions are designed to teach the fundamentals of digital drawing and design while helping students build creativity and confidence in a fun, supportive environment.

Topics include:
  • Digital Drawing
  • Colouring & Painting
  • Character Design
  • Prop Design
  • Background Design
  • Intro to Animation

All equipment is provided during the session, including drawing tablets and software. No experience or personal equipment is required.

Workshops are taught live by Noel Keshwar, a digital artist and former Video Game Art instructor with experience in professional video games, TV cartoons, educational media, and apps.

Workshop #1 must be completed before attending the others. While workshops are recommended in order, each session is designed to function as a standalone class.

Classes are held in public community spaces such as libraries, learning centers, and community hubs. Parents are welcome to stay during sessions.

To keep workshops focused and personal, enrollment is limited to 6 students per class.

Students also have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about careers in digital art, animation, television, and video games from an industry professional.

Pricing and location availability are listed at the bottom of the webpage. Online payment is required to reserve a spot.

FAQ

Do I need to bring my own equipment? No equipment is necessary! We provide the iPads and software for use during every session.

Is there a prerequisite for the workshops? Yes. Workshop 1 must be completed before moving on to others. While we recommend taking all 8 sessions in order to build skills progressively, they are designed so that sessions 2 through 8 can be taken as standalone classes.

What is the age range for these classes? The workshops are specifically designed for children aged 10 to 15. This allows us to keep the instruction focused on a similar maturity and skill level.

How many students are in each class? To keep the learning personal and streamlined, we limit every workshop to just 6 students. This ensures everyone gets one-on-one time with the instructor.

Where exactly are the sessions held? We hold our classes in public community spaces in the St. Thomas, Ontario area, such as local libraries and community centers. The specific location for your date will be confirmed upon booking.

Can I stay and watch the class? Absolutely. Parents are more than welcome to stay and observe the session while their children work.

What happens if we miss a class? Because each payment reserves a specific, limited time slot that cannot be filled at the last minute, we are unable to offer refunds or credits for absences.

How do I sign up? Check the availability at the bottom of the page and email us to reserve your spot. Since we only have 6 seats per session, reservations are confirmed once payment is received via e-transfer.

A Few Ground Rules
Picture
To ensure a safe and productive environment for all students, please review the following guidelines:
  • Punctuality: Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to ensure the session starts on time. Students should be picked up promptly at the end of the workshop.

  • Safety & Supervision: Sessions are held in public venues. While parents are welcome to stay, we ask that you remain nearby if you choose to step away for the duration of the class.

  • Equipment Care: Students are expected to handle the provided tablets and styluses with care. Parents may be held responsible for any intentional damage to hardware.

  • Conduct: We maintain a respectful, focused environment. Students should follow instructions and be mindful of their fellow creators to ensure everyone has a great learning experience.

  • Media Consent: We occasionally take photos of students' work or the class in progress for promotional use. Please let the instructor know if you prefer your child not be photographed.

  • Absences: Because your pre-payment reserves one of only six available seats, we cannot offer refunds or credits for missed sessions.
